Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is most often used for spider veins in the legs, but it also works for blue facial veins especially the larger blue ones around your eyes. It works by injecting a foam compound into the problem vein, causing it to collapse. Blood flow will reroute to other veins, and the treated one will fade away.

These laser treatments work by targeting the blood that makes your spider veins visible. These pigments absorb the laser energy, while your skin does not. The pigments heat up and damage the vein, causing it to close off. These treatments are effective for a wide range of facial spider veins.

This treatment, used to address very small veins, is often used on the nose to treat facial veins in this common area. It uses a thin fiber placed alongside the problem vein that emits a pulse of energy that damages the vein. This method is also used to treat spider veins around the ankles.
