Erectile Dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is the inability to achieve and/or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. It can be a real confidence blocker for men and can cause stress and put pressure on your marriage and intimate relationships. Peyronie’s Disease is a curvature of the penis due to scar tissue that can cause pain and trouble with intercourse. It can be due to trauma, aging, atherosclerotic disease, or unknown causes.
Thankfully, there are three new treatments now available to both treat erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s Disease and improve sexual performance. All three differ from the many other therapies or medications already on the market that are usually used just before the desire for sex.
These three are: Acoustic Wave Therapy, PShot, and BoCox.
Acoustic wave therapy (AWT) is also known as GainsWave® or Shock Wave Therapy or Wave Therapy. These are all the same treatment with different names. Blood flow is essential to achieving a strong and lasting erection, and the lack of it is usually the primary cause of erectile dysfunction. AWT uses advanced sound wave technology to stimulate and increase blood flow to the penis. It rejuvenates the penis blood vessels and helps men achieve erections on their own without the need for pills, shots, or pumps.
AWT therapy feels like a rapid, painless tap on your penis which lasts for ten minutes. Patients don’t need anesthesia and largely describe it as a pain-free experience. During the treatment, we apply warm gel to your penis, and then the sound wave probe targets the blood vessels of the penis.
Most men will need 6 or 12 treatments administered over two months. All treatments are performed by Dr. Dohner himself. After just a single AWT treatment, most men will experience stronger and longer-lasting erections, but you won’t have the full effect until 3 months after the last treatment. It is recommended that maintenance treatments be given once every month to 6 months, depending on the severity of the problem. There is no downtime with AWT. Patients sometimes report some minor tingling during the procedure, which should subside within several hours. You are free to go about your regular activities, including sexual intercourse, immediately following your appointment.
AWT has been shown to work in 75% of men, frequently allowing them to stop using Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra. Of course, every man is different, and your results may not be the usual. AWT can also help with Peyronie’s disease but is usually administered in addition to the PShot to get the best results. AWT is not covered by any insurance currently but is very affordable.

The Priapus Shot® (P-Shot®) is the method of using blood-derived growth factors, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), to improve the health and function of your penis. It is used for ED and Peyronie’s Disease. It may be combined with AWT and Bocox™ and Viagra, etc. While this treatment has been slightly controversial in the past as to whether or not it works, a recent Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial showed that at 6 months, an improvement was seen by 69% of men in the PRP group compared to 27% in the placebo group. This fast, painless, safe treatment can rejuvenate your penis in just a few minutes.
Here are some of the benefits:
The actual procedure of the Priapus Shot® involves applying a numbing lidocaine cream to your penis. Then Blood is drawn from your arm, and the blood is put into a centrifuge to isolate the platelets. The platelets are then transferred into another tube where a small amount of calcium chloride solution is inserted to activate the platelets and release growth factors. The solution is then injected into your penis using a tiny needle throughout the shaft.
Botox® has been used for years as a way to relax muscles in the face and also the smooth muscles of the bladder with bladder spasms. Botox® also relaxes the smooth muscles that control blood flow via the arteries of the penis. When the smooth muscle relaxes, the arteries increase in diameter, and more blood flows into the penis. This causes improved erections and penile health. This cutting-edge treatment also allows us to target the root cause of ED: poor blood flow. BoCox injections are suitable for any man and works well along with AWT, the P-shot, Viagra, or Cialis.
The procedure itself involves numbing the sides of your penis with a strong topical cream for 30 minutes. A rubber band is placed around the base of your penis to hold blood in your penis and keep the Botox® in the penis for a longer period of time. One injection is then performed into each side of your penis which is almost painless. You’ll then hold pressure for ten minutes.
Occasionally bruising will occur, but there are no restrictions on your daily or sexual activity. The results of your BoCox injection will gradually appear over several days. The final results will be evident after 6 weeks. The results usually last for around 6 months. The BoCox™ procedure is unlikely to improve the size of the penis.
If you’re looking to find a long-term solution for erectile dysfunction, these treatments may be right for you. These non-invasive treatments for an embarrassing problem can help boost your ego and help you regain confidence both in and out of the bedroom. The procedure is ideal for men who have erectile dysfunction but are unable to take medications due to high blood pressure, heart disease, or allergic reactions.
These treatments aren’t just for guys with ED. These procedures can be used to help increase sensitivity, stamina, and prolong erections for any man who wants to maximize their sexual experiences.
