What Results Will I See With Varithena®?

Treating problems with your vein system will redirect blood flow to normal veins. Patients report significant improvements in the symptoms and appearance of their legs within a few weeks of treatment. Varithena® treats the symptoms of varicose veins, including aching, heaviness, cramps, restlessness, swelling, rashes, ulcers and pain. Establishing healthy blood flow through your legs prevents the development of future venous problems before they become more difficult to treat.

Am I A Good Candidate for Varithena®?

If you have varicose veins, you should have a vein specialist determine whether you have underlying vein problems that require treatment. If your doctor determines that you need treatment, Varithena® may be an excellent option for you. If you want a vein treatment that only takes one session and requires only an injection or two, you may be a good candidate.

Is There Any Downtime with Varithena®?

You can resume normal activities the same day you have your treatment. You will wear a compression stocking for two weeks. You should wait at least one week before resuming more strenuous activities. For at least a month after treatment, you will need to walk for at least ten minutes every day, and you should avoid staying in one position for a long period of time.

What is Varithena®?

Varithena® is an FDA-approved injectable foam that treats symptoms related to vein problems in your legs. Most people only need one treatment session to “fix” their problem veins. Varithena® requires only one to two injections, so you’ll only feel a needle prick or two during the process. Because treating venous disease helps prevent future health issues, your insurance company usually covers Varithena®. Only doctors who specialize in venous system diagnosis and treatment should administer Varithena®

How Does Varithena® Work?

During treatment, Varithena® is injected in your diseased vein. The foam fills the vein which seals the vein closed, redirecting blood flow to healthy veins. You will wear a support hose on your leg for two weeks afterward to keep the vein closed. Your body reabsorbs the closed veins over time.
