What to Expect During a CoolSculpting® Treatment

Our bodies store unwanted fat in different places. You may store yours around your abdomen, your thighs, or even under your chin. CoolSculpting® eliminates these pockets of resistant fat to shape and slim your figure. Unlike surgical fat reduction, CoolSculpting® requires no incisions or recovery time.

What is CoolSculpting® Elite for Body Sculpting?

CoolSculpting® Elite is the only body contouring system that freezes stubborn fat. At New York Skin & Vein Center, we offer CoolSculpting® Elite, the most advanced and effective form of this treatment. CoolSculpting® works because fat cells freeze at a temperature that does not affect the skin. Your body’s lymphatic system filters away the damaged fat cells, leaving the area slimmer and more sculpted.

What to Expect During a CoolSculpting® Treatment

Your treatment session begins with a gel applied to the treatment area. This gel helps the applicator make good contact with the skin. The applicators will lower the temperature, and you may feel tingling, cold, or prickling sensations. These sensations last a short time before the skin becomes numb. After reaching this point, you will be comfortable enough to read, check Facebook, or even take a nap.

CoolSculpting® treatments usually take 30 to 60 minutes, although if you’re having more than one area treated it will take longer. Your provider will let you know how long you can expect your session to last. When your time is up, your provider will go over the treated area with a brief ZWave acoustic wave treatment to further break up and smooth out the fat. (Studies have shown up a a 30% greater response after a ZWave treatment!) You can then return to your daily routine.

Is There Any Downtime After CoolSculpting® Elite?

CoolSculpting® Elite does not require any downtime. You can return to work or your usual activities. You may notice that your skin looks red and feels mildly swollen, sensitive, or numb. These sensations will fade over the next few days. The lack of downtime lets CoolSculpting® fit into the busiest schedules, even for people without time to recover from surgery.

Many people achieve their goals with a single treatment, while others will benefit from two or three sessions. You will see more fat reduction after each treatment.

Am I a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting® Body Sculpting?

Non-invasive CoolSculpting® Elite is safe for almost everyone. Good candidates want to target specific areas of stubborn fat. People who see maximum results are close to their goal weight and choose CoolSculpting® for body contouring. While it does remove fat, CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss treatment.
