What is Radiesse® Used For?

When it comes to anti-wrinkle injections, it seems like there are lots of choices on the market today.

And while each one has its own benefits, we want to dedicate a special shoutout to Radiesse® – an FDA-approved filler that can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, sagging skin, and even aging hands.

So what exactly is Radiesse® used for? Let’s take a closer look.

The Most Common Uses for Radiesse® Injections

Deep facial lines and wrinkles

If you have deep facial folds or visible wrinkles, you may be excited to learn that Radiesse® is an excellent choice for smoothing out the appearance of deep wrinkles and lines.

Here’s how it works: Radiesse® contains calcium hydroxylapatite, a naturally occurring substance that helps encourage collagen and elastin production. When injected into the dermal tissue, it acts as a firm but malleable scaffolding. This means it lifts up sagging skin without creating a stiff, unnatural appearance.

Radiesse can be used to treat nasolabial folds, hollow cheeks and temples, sagging jaw lines and weak chins.

Cheek augmentation

If you have hollow cheeks or are noticing that your under eye areas are looking hollow, then Radiesse® injections may be the solution you’re looking for.

The Radiesse® formula is dense enough that it can lift up sagging facial areas, especially around the midfacial region (i.e. the cheeks). Radiesse® can create this lift while still allowing for natural facial movements, like smiling and other facial expressions.

If you have crepy, thin skin or cellulite then you will love Radiesse Hyperdilute!

Radiesse can also be used as a biostimulator agent that stimulates Type I collagen, which is the original collagen. Other agents like Sculptra stimulate Type II or III collagen which repairs collagen and is not as good as the original form. Radiesse is mixed with sterile saline to hyperdilute it and then placed into the skin via a cannula. Instead of filling up a wrinkle or thin area, it stimulates your body to thicken the skin on its own. Areas that it treats include the face, neck, décolleté, arms, and knees. Also crepey skin on the abdomen and cellulite on the buttocks respond well to Radiesse Hyperdilute

Improving the appearance of aging hands

If the skin on your hands appears thin or has wrinkles, Radiesse® could help you get a more youthful appearance. Radiesse® injections can help thicken thinning skin, as well as smooth the appearance of wrinkles and lines that come from frequent hand usage.

Radiesse® is so effective on the hands, in fact, that it’s the first FDA-approved anti-wrinkle hand treatment
