Which Restylane Wrinkle Filler is Right for Me?

Time does a lot to the human body, but the most notable signs of aging are always the ones that are found on your skin. People often spend much of their life fighting back wrinkles and working to keep their skin looking smooth and youthful, only to find that the treatments they’re using simply can’t give volume back to their skin.

This is where dermal filler comes in. As you age, the composition of your body will change, with fat and muscle leaving areas like your face. Dermal fillers, such as Restylane, can combat this, plumping out your skin to flatten wrinkles and make you look much younger. Restylane has a wide range of options, but which one is right for you?

The Restylane Family of Fillers

Restylane offers a range of five different dermal filler options. All of these dermal fillers are based on a natural chemical called hyaluronic acid, which is found in the connective tissues in your skin and is generally considered safe for use in cosmetic surgery.

Restylane Classic

The original dermal filler from Restylane is designed to treat mild to moderate to severe facial wrinkles, like the nasolabial folds found at the corners of your mouth, cheeks, tear troughs (the hollows under your eyes) and can even be used as a lip filler.

Restylane Defyne

Restylane Defyne is used for deeper laugh lines, defining the contours of your face using XpresHAn Technology to enable you to maintain natural facial movement.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne is very similar to Defyne but it is less dense. This makes it perfect for if you need a filler for your lips or shallower marionette lines or nasolabial folds.

Restylane Silk

The next option, Restylane Silk, is a little different from the others. Marketed as a lip filler, rather than a broader dermal filler, this product is designed to make your lips look thick and full, but can also be used for mild facial wrinkles.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft is thicker and denser than the other Restylane options on this list and can be used to restore the volume of your cheeks, and on the back of your hands.

Restylane Kysse

Restylane Kysse is a balanced filler specifically designed to give you volume and softness in just your lips. It has been shown to work better than Juvederm Volbella® XC and requires less amount of filler to give a longer lasting result too.

How Does Restylane Work?

Like all other dermal fillers, Restylane is injected into the area of concern. A tiny needle or cannula is used depending on the area. A treatment takes just a few minutes and the results will be visible almost instantly. Depending on the product you choose, these results could last for 9 months to 2 years, making Restylane an excellent value.

How To Choose Which Restylane Filler You Want?

As you can see, Restylane has a variety of different options available, and they are all made to do different jobs. For some, it will be nice and easy to figure out which of the Restylane products are best based on this. For others, though, it could be worth getting in touch with the team at the New York Skin & Vein Center to get some advice before you take the plunge.
