What is Microneedling?

If you’re looking for a treatment that can do more to get you the complexion you’ve always wanted, then it’s time to consider microneedling treatments.

Microneedling is a relatively new treatment, but it delivers great results: just a few treatments can help minimize wrinkles and fine lines, firm up sagging skin, and even fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.

Ready to learn more about microneedling, including what it is and how it works? Read on!

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an FDA-approved, non-surgical treatment that uses a special device to invigorate collagen and elastin production, as well as speed up cellular turnover.

Microneedling accomplishes those goals thanks to tiny stainless steel needles, which are placed at the end of an injector tool. When the device is powered on, the needles move at a rapid rate to quickly create micro-channels within the dermal tissue.

Once these micro-channels are created, they trigger your body’s wound-healing processes. Your body produces a surge of collagen and elastin to help heal the wounds (in fact, that’s what scar tissue is made of!). As a result, all the excess collagen and elastin helps firm up the skin and speed up cellular turnover…

And that leads to younger, healthier, and firmer skin!

You’re a good candidate for microneedling treatments if you want to treat signs of:

  • Aging
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin texture and tone
  • Acne scarring
  • Skin sagging
  • And more

What is RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines the magic of microneedling with the skin-tightening powers of radiofrequency energy.

Here’s how that works: As the microneedling device creates micro-channels within the skin, the device emits radiofrequency energy to penetrate the subdermal tissue. This heat energy helps the dermal tissue to immediately contract, resulting in noticeable skin-tightening benefits as soon as the treatment is done.

What’s more, benefits from an RF Microneedling treatment can last for a long time, with many patients seeing tighter and firmer skin up to one year after their last microneedling session.

You’re a good candidate for RF microneedling treatments if you want to treat skin texture and tone issues, but also want to tighten and tone sagging skin.
