How Long Does ThermiVa® Last?

As we age, or after childbirth, many women experience problems with their sexual health and satisfaction as well as with bladder problems. These issues can make enjoying everyday activities more difficult. Fortunately, ThermiVa® offers a non-invasive, painless treatment to greatly reduce these symptoms and improve your quality of life.

Thermiva Oneonta

What is ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is a temperature-controlled radiofrequency device that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently heat tissue. This stimulates the vaginal tissues to produce more collagen. Collagen, part of our skin’s key support network, becomes less abundant and weaker with age, but ThermiVa® stimulates new, healthy collagen to develop in the area.

How Does ThermiVa® Work?

The small RF wand is used on the outside and inside of the vagina, and the energy from it  passes into the tissues and stimulates the tissues to grow more collagen.

The increase in collagen production leads to healthier tissues with more youthful vitality. The vaginal area becomes tighter and improved lubrication makes intimacy more enjoyable. Even better, the treatment improves the support for the bladder and urinary tract system, reducing or eliminating symptoms of stress incontinence (such as when laughing or sneezing) as well as urge incontinence.

All women feel no discomfort during the procedure. You may feel warmth, but the device has temperature controls to protect your body. Treatments take about 30 minutes, with no recovery time needed.

Is There Any Downtime with ThermiVa®?

You can return to normal activities immediately after your treatment. Most people do not experience any side effects from the procedure, although there may be some sensitivity lasting a few hours.

How Long Will ThermiVa® Last?

ThermiVa® will be administered over three treatments, each one month apart. At the end of these treatments, you can expect your results to last about one year. You can always return to your provider for maintenance treatments to keep your results lasting longer.

What Results Can I Expect from ThermiVa®?

You can expect to see improvement in the health and function of the vaginal tissue, including decreased laxity, improved lubrication, and greater sensitivity. You can also expect to see the sudden urges to urinate or unexpected leaks become more manageable

You should see results immediately after your first treatment, and they will continue to improve for weeks after your last treatment as collagen synthesis continues. ThermiVa® is not a vanity procedure; it can dramatically improve your quality of life and your freedom to engage in day-to-day activities.

Am I A Candidate For ThermiVa®?

If you struggle with symptoms of vaginal laxity, discomfort during intercourse, or other sexual health problems, you may be a good candidate. In addition, if you suffer from stress incontinence or other types of urinary leakage, you may also be a good candidate. One procedure can improve both types of symptoms.
