How Can I Get Rid of Crow's Feet?

Facial expressions help us communicate our emotions, but they cause wear and tear on the skin over time. Crow’s feet, also known as smile lines, form where muscles crinkle the skin around your eyes when you smile. You can smooth out crow’s feet and keep your beautiful smile with our range of treatment methods.

What Causes Crow’s Feet?

Wrinkles come in three types. Dynamic wrinkles form when the muscles that control facial expressions pull on the skin. Loss of volume wrinkles occur as your body loses fat and collagen. Etched-in wrinkles form when skin becomes lax and loses elasticity. They will still appear even when your face is not moving. Crow’s feet can fall into either category, but they are often dynamic wrinkles.

How Can I Get Rid of Crow’s Feet?

Laser treatments and injectables can get rid of both types of crow’s feet. We may recommend one type of treatment or a combination to address your situation

Wrinkle Relaxers

The gold standard for dynamic crow’s feet, wrinkle relaxers stop muscle contractions that cause creases in the skin. Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® all use a version of botulinum toxin to temporarily stop muscle contractions in the targeted areas. The FDA has approved these treatments for putting the muscles to sleep that cause the lines and wrinkles like crow’s feet.

Wrinkle Fillers

Also called dermal fillers, wrinkle fillers work to lift up lines and wrinkles from beneath. They include Restylane®, and Juvederm®. Wrinkle fillers work better for static lines and wrinkles but work almost anywhere.

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening

Using ThermiSmooth or Exilis Ultra 360™, Dr. Dohner and his team can restore, tighten, and smooth your skin. This treatment stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, giving you firmer, more resilient skin.

Any of these treatments can work together to improve results. You might have crow’s feet that benefit from a wrinkle relaxer like Dysport® in combination with a dermal filler. Radiofrequency skin tightening can smooth your entire face, including lines and wrinkles.

Is There Any Downtime With Getting Rid of Crow’s Feet?

These treatments usually require no downtime. Injectables may cause small red spots, or minor bruising, and radiofrequency skin tightening may cause redness for a day. These effects typically last a few hours to a few days at most.
